At the Tomás Hernán Dental Clinic, we know that a surgical intervention requires trust and experience. We have an expert team in all areas of oral surgery in Carabanchel.
We offer advanced solutions for third molars (wisdom teeth), dental implants, and bone regeneration, always with a minimally invasive and painless approach.
One of the most common and well-known oral surgeries is the extraction of wisdom teeth, which is generally performed between the ages of 18 and 22; although there are cases where it is necessary to extract them earlier or others where it is done later.
Dental implant treatments or bone regenerations are procedures that Dr. Tomás Hernán and his team perform regularly, with the training and experience that support a work dynamic seeking the best result for each patient.
There are many pathologies that can make oral surgery necessary, although as mentioned before, the extraction of wisdom teeth and the placement of implants are some of the most frequent.
Likewise, as a complement to certain orthodontic treatments, the exposure or extraction of impacted canines may be necessary, as well as the removal of oral frenulums.
Occasionally, to be able to place dental implants, it may be necessary to perform prior or simultaneous interventions to regenerate lost bone, such as maxillary sinus lifts, guided bone regenerations, or bone grafts.
Although the term surgery might make us think of hospital admission, general anesthesia, and a long recovery period, today, with existing techniques and thanks to minimally invasive surgery, the vast majority of oral surgeries and dental implant procedures are performed in the dental clinic, in a treatment room and under local anesthesia.
It is extremely important to put yourself in the hands of qualified and experienced professionals. Dr. Tomás Hernán is a Doctor of Dentistry, holds a Master’s Degree in Oral Surgery from the Complutense University of Madrid, and has more than 15 years of experience in private practice and as an attending dentist in the Stomatology Service of the Gregorio Marañón General University Hospital, with thousands of oral surgery interventions performed under both local and general anesthesia.
Dr. Tomás Hernán will personally advise you, based on the complexity of your case and the necessary surgical procedure, on how the recovery will progress in the days following the intervention; however, in general, progress is good and only requires basic care and pharmacological treatment.
It is extremely important that you, as a patient, follow all instructions and the prescribed treatment to the letter to ensure the success of the intervention.
The consumption of tobacco or alcohol significantly worsens progress, preventing proper tissue healing.
The application of local cold is especially useful, according to Dr. Tomás Hernán’s instructions, in the first 48-72 hours to avoid the onset of pain or excessive inflammation.
In our Dental Clinic, we take care of every detail to achieve the best result in our oral surgery and dental implant treatments in Carabanchel.
